Our
pilot project includes providing educational materials especially
to teachers and needy students in Nigeria. The simple tools necessary
to create an effective learning environment are absent in many classrooms.
The schools cannot provide them and the children cannot afford to
buy them. The lack of classroom resources not only impedes learning
but also contributes to lack of challenge.
It is the intention
of the Nigerian Women Association Of Hampton Roads Virginia to augment
the Government's effort to educate our children. The list of much
needed items for the children and there teachers may be long but not
unaffordable to many of us here. They include -textbooks,notebooks, pens, pencils, notebooks, pens, pencils, chalk, softwares,
and computers.
The materials will be distributed to schools
in both rural and urban areas through a Non Governmental Organization
(NGO'S) in the country that would have a list of schools in need.
Our goal is to establish a non-profit educational supply center in
the country from where items will be distributed to needy schools.
Our children deserve our support. We appeal to you all to support
us so that we can give them the support they need and deserve. Quoting
UNICEF "There is much evidence that education has a determinate role
in the right of children and has a direct bearing on their health
and economic future"
Help us to supprt our children so that
they can have a future filled with hope and fulfillment, and not a
future filled with hopelessness anger and violence.
